Experiencing ‘Agony’ Over Life Situations ?

And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

— Luke 22:43,44

Have you ever wondered where all your friends were at a time when you really needed them? They pledged they would be faithful, but when you needed them, they were nowhere to be found! Did you feel abandoned in that moment of need? Jesus Himself was confronted with that same situation when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane on the night before His crucifixion.

  1. There is a blessing that goes forth that incorporates God’s love, the grace of Jesus and communion of the Holy Spirit. When you get into a stressful place of too much ministry and not enough intimacy we must stop and sit at the feet of Jesus until we are loved, graced and empowered for service. Today choose the one thing that is needed.

  2. A relationship with Jesus requires a transformed life filled with light and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Momentary light does not mean we have fully embraced the Cross of Christ. It is time to make the break, leave the past behind and move forward into the fullness and power of Jesus.

  3. When we fail to appreciate the provision of God and don’t understand where He is leading us we will go backwards instead of forward. What a tragedy when we don’t see the divine purpose for our life and the Bible becomes a closed book. God provides for us manna from heaven and all the strength we need for our journey. It doesn't matter how difficult our trials become, we are called to go into the Bible and get God's vision for our lives because it will strengthen you and those around you. We serve the God of the miraculous and if we get into His Word there will be all the provision we need so that as the years go by we will be like a green tree full of fresh oil.

  4. In seasons of weariness God prepares and provides a word for you. Time and time again God will speak to our heart and not our circumstances. Throughout these seasons the Lord will nurture
and embrace us and His Word will remind us that God is still in control and every circumstance must answer to Him.

  5. God will test our faith in the strongest and strangest manner. In these times of testing and delay be persistent and appeal to God’s mercy. At Just the right time God will refine your faith to a golden
perfection. Great faith is centered on Christ.

  6. The devil may try to use your friends, your family, your business associates, or your school teachers to make fun of you and drag you down, but you don’t have to let the devil’s plan work against you. In times like these, remember that Jesus was also “despised and rejected of men” (Isaiah 53:3).
