Book of Revelation is a testimony written by John.
He testifies about Gospel, the way it was revealed to him by Jesus. We are lead to believe that it is a book of “future prophesies”. We were lied to! It is NOT so at all. Lord wants us to be saved and He have no intentions to “confuse” us or to “keep secrets” from us about things and definitely He will NOT speak to us “in codes”. His “language” is so simple, that a little child understands Him with no problem. So, be like a little child and quit making “a big deal” out of nothing!
Here is John’s testimony in our (“modern”) language.

1. And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying,
Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
It talks about people who were resurrected from the dead (spiritually), whose God baptized by Holy Spirit, who know Him, who received His ultimate sacrifice and were cleansed by the blood of Jesus, who are worshiping Him. Thats includes both spiritual (ones who live by Spirit) and carnal (“fleshy”, those who live by flesh).
2. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is
given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
It talks about people who were newer resurrected from the dead (spiritually), have no idea who real God is and don't care about all of this “God stuff” ether. Truth to them is one big joke or make-believe ferry-tails.
* please note that numbers and dates are not important to us at all, but I guess they were important to John and to people of that time and that is why Jesus revealed those dated to him. Those dates tells nothing to us today, but it made sense to them back then. This is one of the reasons why we have to receive revelations from Jesus personally (eat His FRESH Daily Bread) and not reading somebody else's revelations, try to apply them to us 2000 years later and then live by them!
3. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a
thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth
4. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God
of the earth.
It is people who are preaching Gospel of Truth. Jesus is their Master and they are guided only by Holy Spirit.
* please note that “prophesy” in nowadays is not done the same way it was done in old days. Nowadays “prophesying” is preaching the Gospel (meaning: testifying). Everyone can receive Holy Spirit, so God speaking to those people who wanted to received Him and did. In old days God couldn't be ONE with us (there was not an ultimate sacrifice done yet), so He would choose a righteous man and would be “upon him” (not: become “one” with him), so He can talk to people. (note: it is a prototype of Jesus preaching Gospel to those, who are not born again). Prophesy today “the old way” is ANTI-GOSPEL!
* And again: those dates are not important to us today.
5. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and
devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
I (we) preach the Gospel, which kills evil and darkness. Lie can not withstand the Truth (Word). Also see: John 16:7-11, Rev 20:9 or Rev 19:11-21. It is just random examples so you can see how same thing is being put in different wording.
6. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy:
and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
I know the Truth and I may not (“shut heaven”) preach Gospel (“rain”).
I will NEWER do that (no child of God would never do such evil thing!), although I have the power to do so.
Truth which I am preaching kills (“turn to blood”) those, who like darkness more then Truth (they are children of this world (“waters”), of satan), but they are rather be in pain (“plagues”) then accept the true Gospel, which I am preaching to them over and over.
7. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
8. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry,
and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
Here I am dying to this world. Children of this world have no idea what is going on, but they are guided by their own interpretations of what is going on (they are being fed with lies by their father, who is also happens to be father of all lies) and are very happy when I was “finally killed” and stopped “hurting” them with all of that Truth. They would say to each other: “look at her! And she dared to say that she is a true child of God... Look at her now! She finally got what she deserved!”
and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither.
And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Here is I am being resurrected from the dead (spiritually). Jesus revealed Himself to me and took me to His Kingdom, to Heaven, to His everlasting Sabbath, which totally surprised and scared those, who are calling themselves “children of God”, but in fact are carnal.
* please note that those people wasn't “unbelievers”, because they “heard a great voice from heaven” (only those, who were baptized by Holy Spirit are able to hear Him) and those people knew what was happening to me (they were able to “see” what was happening to me). Never the less - they were my “enemies”.
* again: dates are not important here to us at all. John is testifying what had happened to him. Also, order of events might (and is/will be) be different for everyone personally.
13. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city
fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
Here is me accepting the Truth. Many (unfortunately) newer accepted it, although they “gave glory to the God of heaven” (their pride killed them).
14. The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
(I have no idea what he is talking about here... Some things should be between us and Jesus, I guess...)
15. And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven,
saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
16. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
17. Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and
art tocome; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
Here is me (angel means: messenger) preaching the Gospel: Jesus become King of kings and Lord of lords 2000 years ago! He was given all powers and authorities. He is reign for ever more. Bow down to Him, proclaim Him as your King and Master. He have key from hell and death; He will take you from this world (from hell) and into His Kingdom right this instance, so you will not die, but live for ever more with Him.
18. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead,
that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
Many of you will be very unhappy and unpleased with my testimony, but Holy Spirit of Truth will judge you, if you will not receive it, if you will not turn away from your evil ways. And here is how you are going to be judged:
8. And when he (Holy Spirit, Jesus) is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9. Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10. Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11. Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
(Jn 16:8-11)
19. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the
ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Here is a Pure Gospel again! Here is me after death to this world (not physical death, but spiritual) receiving a new body (“temple of God”) - body of Christ... just the way Jesus had after His resurrection (another good example of it: Luke 24:36-44) and everyone else who died for this world and was resurrected (born again, baptized by Holy Spirit which is the “ark of his testament”) and become a new “creature” - child of God.
People! His Kingdom is NOT thing of the future!
His Kingdom is available NOW (and was available for the last 2000 years!).
You just heard the Gospel, the Good News.
Believe it, accept Him as you Lord and Master and enter His Kingdom NOW!
or you will be left outside the door for ever more...
