"Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." The Holy Spirit will abide in us if we are His disciples. If we are of the world, we cannot receive the abiding of the Holy Spirit. But those who love God enough to receive His Spirit, WILL OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS. (John 14:17)
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given, even to rebellious (disobedient) people, so that God may dwell among believers. "Psalms 68:18 --- thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them." The purpose of manifestation is that the believers must be profited by the gifts. "1 Cor 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal."

A mountain of many peaks is the mountain of Bashan. Why do you fume with envy, you mountains of many peaks?
This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in, Yes, the LORD will dwell in it forever.
The chariots of God are twenty thousand,
Even thousands of thousands,
The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the Holy Place.
You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive, You have received gifts among men, EVEN from THE REBELLIOUS, That the LORD God might dwell there.

There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to EACH ONE for the PROFIT OF ALL: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually AS HE WILLS
