Repentance

Consider distinction between "REPENTANCE" and "Love and Mercy".

--- Repentance is often spoken of today in such a way as to leave the impression that you don't need to change your lifestyle. How different this is from Paul's own teaching in ...Ephesians 4:21-24!

"Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught with regard to your former way of life, to put off your OLD SELF, which is being corrupted by its deceitful DESIRES, to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to PUT ON THE NEW SELF, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

It does not mean that you should NOT do anything, it means that if you do your best then God will help you, but of course we are saved by grace.

‎(Titus 3:8)
This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to DOING what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

(Hebrews 11:11)
And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, WAS ENABLED to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
It is important to know that the Holy Spirit works in different ways for different people. Some do not feel much, but they see the results when the Holy Spirit has been present.

Most Christians take the blood of Jesus Christ for granted, downplay sin, and preach that salvation can be easily obtained by a simple ritual or a prayer. God has rejected them by taking repentance away from them since they have considered the blood of Jesus Christ so cheap.

(Heb 10:26) For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
(Heb 6:6) If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." If someone downplays sin without repenting, probably God might have rejected him already by not giving repentance. The wrath of God will be upon those who know the Word of God and still commit sin without striving to quit.
